History

The Waynesboro Country Club was formed in 1928 as a non-profit club serving Waynesboro and the immediate areas.  It has remained since that time as a country club opened to all individuals in the area regardless or race, religion, or creed.   We currently  support 325 golf memberships and 275 social memberships with our main emphasis to not expand beyond the 600 membership maximum.  Our mission has been to maintain a membership size that will allow maximum usage of facilities without the need of tee times.
Old ClubhouseThe club began as a nine-hole facility that utilized the original farmhouse on the property as the clubhouse.  In a 1970 expansion, the golf course was altered to accommodate 18 holes and a swimming pool was constructed for the club's membership.  To meet the needs of the ever-expanding membership, two tennis courts were added to the facility in 1976.

The 1990's saw several major improvement and expansion projects completed.  The single lane bridge that served as the club's only entrance was replaced with a beautiful two-lane bridge that blends well with the East Antietam Creek that flows through the property.   New Clubhouse from 10 teeThe farmhouse that was built in the 1800's and served as the clubhouse, was torn down and replaced with a modern facility that houses our lounge, fine dining facility, locker rooms and club offices.  A fully automated double row irrigation system was the major improvement to occur during the 1990's.

Each year we add small touches to our facilities and the associated programs to better serve our club's membership and their guests.  The Waynesboro Country Club has also served the community by hosting many charitable and outside functions both on the golf course and in our dining facility over the years of our existence.
